Nikkei and Columbia Journalism School are happy to announce $100,000 Scholarships to students who wish to pursue a master’s degree program in the fields of data and business journalism. Students from Asia are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.

The five-year scholarship program supports the educational advancement of aspiring data and business journalists from Asia.

Scholarship Award: Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Nikkei, Inc., parent company of the Financial Times, the publisher of the Nikkei, and the Nikkei Asian Review announced today a new $100,000 scholarship for a student who is a resident in Asia.

Scholarship can be taken in the USA

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • The Columbia-Nikkei Scholarship will be awarded annually for the next five years to exemplary candidates who wish to specialize in data and business journalism. Each September, the school will announce whether it seeks scholarship applicants interested in business and data journalism.

Nationality: Students from Asia are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have their previous degree.

English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required Proof of English language proficiency (where applicable for non-native speakers of English).
