Norwegian Russian Scholarships in Norway

Russian students interested in studying in Norway for a semester or two can apply for the Norwegian Russian Scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023. This opportunity is offered by the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills in Norway.

30 scholarships are granted by the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills, 15 of which are within Norwegian language and literature, and 15 are within other subjects. Russian national students are eligible. Tuition fees and other expenses will be covered under this scholarship grant.

The Directorate for Higher Education and Skills is a result of the merger of the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Diku), Skills Norway, and Universal, as well as parts of Unit and the Norwegian Centre for Research Data (NSD).

The Directorate for Higher Education and Skills was founded on 1st July 2021 under the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research. It is a Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for any higher degree programme at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, University of Bergen, Molde University College – Specialized University in Logistics, Nord University, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, University of South-Eastern Norway, University of Stavanger, or Volda University College.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Students can submit their applications online via the designated application portal and also made admission applications to an eligible institution. All eligible students will be considered automatically.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Upper secondary/high school certificate or transcript of records
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree diploma and transcripts of records or equivalent
  • All documents must be submitted in English or Scandinavian, in PDF format.
  • Admission Requirements: Students must meet the entry and admission requirements of the university they wish to be admitted to.
  • Language Requirement: The students are required to provide proof of proficiency in English and Norwegian by submitting results of IELTS or TOFEL or Norskprøvenor Test I Norsk, etc.

Benefits

The Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills will provide the following benefits to the selected students:

  • The students will be paid tuition fees, except for a semester fee of approximately 600 Norwegian kroner.
  • The students will receive a monthly grant equivalent to the rate for Norwegian students at the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (“Lånekassen”). For the academic year 2022-2023, this will be around 11 450 Norwegian kroner per month (this rate might be raised by 2% in accordance with Lånekassen’s annual price adjustment).
  • Students will normally be offered student accommodation, for which they pay the rent out of their grant, usually between 2 500 and 4 500 Norwegian kroner monthly.
