The workshop will also include short presentations by Celia Elliott and myself on the key components of the NSF Fellowship application and tips for writing an effective fellowship proposal. As someone looking to pursue a career in academia, it is important to understand what is required in a competitive fellowship proposal. In my presentation, I will discuss the types of research most likely to be funded by the NSF and strategies for developing a strong research proposal. I will also provide advice on how to write a compelling personal statement.
How to Apply
The Oct. 21, 2022 deadline for the NSF Graduate Fellowship is quickly approaching, so if you are planning to apply or thinking about applying, it is important to attend the Graduate Fellowship Workshop from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2022, in Rm 276 Loomis. The Workshop will be conducted in a hybrid mode, and a Zoom link will be circulated to those who can’t participate. Pizza and drinks will be provided for those who attend in person!
