2017 PhD Scholarship in Education at Aalborg University, Denmark

The Aalborg University offers a three-year fully funded Ph.D. scholarship under the research project ‘The Rise of an Educationalized World: A Global Analysis of OECD’s Educational Recommendations, Programmes, and Impact’. This scholarship is open to Danish and international students.

Aalborg University (AAU) is a dynamic and innovative, independent research and educational institution in the field of public administration under the supervision of the Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation. AAU offers programs and research in the humanities, natural, social, engineering and health. The programs are aimed at both the private and the public sector. AAU is engaged in local, regional and national problems and are actively pursuing international cooperation.

Scholarship Award: It is a prerequisite for allocation of the stipend that the candidate will be enrolled as a Ph.D. student at Doctoral School of the Faculty of the Humanities, in accordance with the regulations of Ministerial Order No. 1039 of 27 August 2013 (Ph.D. Order).

Scholarship can be taken in Denmark

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:

Qualification requirements
Ph.D. stipends are normally for a period of 3 years. Ph.D. stipends are allocated to individuals who hold a Master’s degree, or expect to have obtained the Master’s degree before February 1, 2017 (thesis contract and documentation of the date of the exam must be enclosed if the applicant has not obtained the Master’s degree at the time of the application).

The applicant must:

  • Hold a relevant master degree (preferably in education, political science or history)
  • Have excellent language skills in written and spoken English
  • Have experience with document analysis
  • Have experience with archival work
  • Be willing to travel to archives and international conferences.

Nationality:  This scholarship is open to Danish and international students.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must hold a relevant master degree (preferably in education, political science or history).

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirements: A good proficiency in English is required in order to be able to teach in English and to prepare the PhD-thesis in English. For non-Danish speaking applicants, it is expected that they take Danish language courses.
