PhD Scholarship in Light Weight Rotor Design at DTU Wind Energy in Denmark, 2013

The Department of Wind Energy in the Technical University of Denmark, DTU is inviting applications for PhD scholarship for the Aeroelastic Design Section (AED). The general scope of the PhD project is to develop methods and tools for design of light weight rotors by considering both passive build-in and active controls. The period of employment is 3 years. All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, race, disability, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is 30 September 2013.

Scholarship Description: The Department of Wind Energy in the Technical University of Denmark, DTU Wind Energy, is seeking a PhD student for the Aeroelastic Design Section (AED). Our competences are aero-servo-elasticity (coupling between structural dynamics, aerodynamics and control), aerodynamics, CFD and aero acoustics (engineering models for turbulent inflow and trailing edge noise). We focus on the development of models for the design, analysis and improvement of wind turbines and the validation of these models in full scale tests or wind tunnel experiments.

Duration of award (s): The period of employment is 3 years.

What does it cover? The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students.
