Curtin University is pleased to offer international scholarships to conduct epidemiological research at the School of Public Health. The Merit-based scholarship is available to undertake the PhD programme.

Applicants must hold a laboratory-based undergraduate degree in a technical field (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Engineering) at a high level (honours) of academic achievement. IELTS Overall: 6.5, Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening 6.0).

Scholarship Description

  • Application Deadline: Applications accepted at any time
  • Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing PhD programme in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
  • Study Subject: A three year fully-funded PhD scholarship is available for an outstanding candidate to conduct health services research that focuses on health systems and implementation science at the School of Public Health.
  • Awards: The successful candidate will receive a stipend of $27,596 per annum.

  • Nationality: Australian Citizen; New Zealand Citizen as well as Australian Permanent Residents

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Australian Citizen; International students; Permanent Humanitarian Visa; New Zealand Citizen as well as Australian Permanent Residents are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.
  • Entrance Requirements: The successful candidate will have:
    – A Masters degree in a relevant discipline requiring the completion of a publicly available thesis or research project to an acceptable standard
    – A Bachelors degree with first-class honours OR
    – Graduated with a bachelor degree (with first-class or upper second honours) and completed a postgraduate diploma or its equivalent, or completed a master degree by coursework, with, in both cases, a course-weighted average of not less than 70 per cent within the University, and demonstrated the capacity to undertake significant research
    Additionally, they should:
    – Have strong numeric skills and an interest in quantitative research;
    – Preferably have experience in research and/or the use of statistical packages; and
    – Preferably have experience in publishing peer-reviewed research.
