  5. I have seen the PhD program that you will be offering onpathophysiology and experiemental therapty of CLL. During my maters program my research was looking at the effects of primining of anti-CD180 monoclonal antibodies on the survial and apoptosis of B-cell CLL following the ligation of sIgM and IgD, this appears to be related to what your group is interested as both are meant to design novel thearapy for CLL. I believe i am well placed for this and am interested to join this PhD program , please advise. Currently am working at the only medical college in Malawi and am involved in teaching medical laboaratoery technlogist students.

    Dear,

This is Mr.Rowaid Qahwaji from Saudi Arabia. Actually, I’m a full sponsored-ship student from ministry of higher education in Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
I am writing to you with regards to my interest in the University’s program. I would like to apply to the program of PhD in Haematology speciality for the following year.
I believe that I have the necessary credentials for eligibility due to my past educational (4 year’s undergraduate academic degree in medical technology programme) and work-related experiences in routine haematology laboratory for around 2-3 years (King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah). I am excited by the possibility of being a part of PhD program in this University and under your supervision. Right now, I’m doing a master programme in Pathological Sciences, haematology, at Sheffield Hallam University, UK, and it is suspected to graduate on November 2009. I can add that I passed two semesters of the program and now I am doing the last semester which including a project module. My interesting project is aimed to investigate the effect of MG132, a proteasome inhibitor drug which considered as a new treatment line of leukaemia, on both leukemic cell lines (mylocyte and lymphocyte). During this module, I am receiving a good training on several laboratory techniques including: cell culture, cytotoxicity and Proliferation assay – MTS assay, Flow cytometry, fluorescent microscope, caspase 3 assays, and using of many types of useful markers and stains such as Annexin V/PI, trypan Blue, and Hoescht/PI stain. I am widely looking to keep searching through this kind of topic and/or any other PhD researches related to haematological malignancy. Please, If possible, I would like to maintain correspondence with you if any other additional questions should arise.

Thank you very much for your time. I look forward to corresponding with you in the near future.

    Yours Sincerely,
    Rowaid Qahwaji
