Eligibility:
1) PhD in materials science (specialization in ceramics is preferred) 2) Strong background in materials characterization (such as SEM, TEM, XRD, diffraction, optical microscopy) 3) Experience with corrosion of ceramics, OR 4) Experience with creep testing of ceramics, OR 5) Experience with modelling of high-temperature behavior of ceramic materials (e.g., in Abacus) 6) Strong communication skills

Scholarship Description: A funded Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF) position is available for September 2012 – September 2014. The candidate will participate in research group working on the development of yttria-stabilized zirconia ceramic composite materials. The materials have been fabricated via Spark Plasma Sintering technology. The PDF will join a research team of MASc and PhD students and study the corrosion resistance and creep resistance of the ceramics.
