Scholarship can be taken in Norway

Eligibility: Candidates must have a Ph.D. equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree. Successful candidates must have submitted their doctoral thesis prior to the application closing date.

  • The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry or equivalent.
  • She/he should have a background in molecular nutrition, preferably from the field of nuclear receptors.
  • The candidate should be experienced in molecular biology and cell biology techniques. Candidates with training in mass spectrometry will be prioritized
  • She/he should have an excellent command of written and oral English
  • The candidate should be self-driven, highly motivated, and able to collaborate with others to become an integrated part of the research group.

Nationality: Norwegian and foreign applicants can apply for these fellowships.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Candidates must have a Ph.D. equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirements: A good command of English is required for all students attending the University of Oslo. International students; Ph.D. research fellows and post-doctoral research fellows who are not native speakers of English, must document their proficiency in English by taking one of the following internationally recognised tests

  • TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language
  • IELTS – International English Language Testing Service
  • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) from the University of Cambridge
  • Applicants to the programme for the Ph.D. degree in Science must obtain a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 80 (internet-based) on the TOEFL test or a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS (academic) test. The same applies to applicants for postdoctoral research fellow positions.

International Fellowship

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online. The application must include:

  • Application letter describing how she/he fits the description of the person we seek, including a summary of the applicant’s scientific work and interests
  • CV summarizing education, positions held, details of  academic work, pedagogical and administrative experience and other qualifying activities
  • List of publications, published abstracts, presentations that the applicant wishes to be considered by the evaluation committee
  • Copies of educational certificates and transcripts of records
  • Names and contact details of 2-3 referees stating relation to candidate, e-mail, and telephone number

Foreign applicants are advised to attach an explanation of their University’s grading system. Please remember that all documents should be in English or a Scandinavian language.
