The University of Leiden is offering Postdoctoral position in Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents at The Institute of Biology (IBL) in Netherlands.

The candidate will develop a method to detect natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) in living organisms (plants, microorganisms, or animals). Next to the detection of natural deep eutectic solvents, the candidate will apply the solvents to diverse fields of life science. In some cases where access to specialized instrumentation is required, you will need to visit (application) laboratories of partners in Germany, France, and the Netherlands for up to a month.

Eligibility

  • The candidate should have a Ph.D.-degree in Analytical (or Bio-) Chemistry, or in a related discipline, and should have knowledge on current NMR spectroscopy (preferably MAS-NMR).
  • The candidate should have demonstrated a strong interest in an academic career through his/ her publication record and prior engagement in collaborative research and teaching.

Benefits

The salary is determined in accordance with the collective salary agreement of the Association of Dutch universities (CAO) and depending on your personal qualifications and experience, the gross monthly salary starts at 2397,- euro and ends at 3755,- euro (scale 10) for a full-time equivalent, with, additional, holiday and end-of-year bonuses.
