Applicants are invited for the position of “Post?doctoral Research Fellow” as part of a joint research project between Masdar Institute and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The research thrust is aimed to develop cost-effective fabrication process for obtaining high efficiency multijunction solar cells using advanced concepts. The successful candidate will be mainly based at the Masdar Institute campus in Abu Dhabi, UAE; but will also have the opportunity, if needed, to visit MIT to work with the MIT counterpart team.

The project’s Principal Investigators are Dr. Ibraheem Almansouri, Masdar Institute and Dr. Jeehwan Kim, MIT.

The position will be for an initial period of 12 months, extendable to 2 years depending on funds availability and performance. The position will commence in 2017.

Eligibility:

• Recent Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on photovoltaic solar energy or 2D material-based optoelectronic devices.
• Expertise in the area of material growth, particularly with graphene via CVD, design and characterization of material and optoelectronic devices. Basic knowledge of photovoltaic devices is beneficial.
• Established track record evident by publication in top quality refereed journals.
• Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
