Research Positions at  National Institute of Occupational Health

Job Description: The following posts are to be filled up under the time bound research project entitled “Environmental and occupational exposure and male reproductive function”(SRF-1, JRF-1, RA-1) sponsored by DST, ICMR projects entitled “Environmental Persistent Chemicals in Male Infertility”(JRF-1) and “Studies on phthalate compounds on male reproductive function of rats” (SRF-1) and One post of Jr. Technical Assistant in ENVIS Project, at the National Institute of Occupational Health, Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad. The posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
SeniorResearch Fellow (One)
Qualification: Essential: M. Sc. in Zoology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology/ Toxicology/ other related subjects with good academic record and passed National written test like UGC-CSIR NET, ICMR for JRF or lectureship with 2 years of research experience.

Job Requirement:
• To collect history, biological samples
• To carry out laboratory work related to
semen analysis/ gene polymorphism
• Computation of data and report writing

SeniorResearch bFellow (One) ICMR Project
Qualifications: Essential: M. Sc. in Zoology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology/ or other related subjects with good academic record and with 2 years research experience.
Preference will be given to the candidate who have passed National written test like UGCCSIR NET, ICMR for JRF or lectureship.
Job Requirement:
• Conduct animal experiment, and handling of animals. Collection of blood and tissue samples
• Laboratory work related
• to histology and biochemistry etc.
• Computation of data and report writing

Junior Research Fellow(One) DST Project*
Qualifications: Essential: M. Sc. in Zoology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology/ Toxicology/ Biotechnology or other related subjects with good academic record and passed National written test like UGC-CSIR NET, ICMR for JRF or lecturership
Desirable: Experience in the field of either reproductive and molecular biology
Job Requirement:
• To collect history, biological samples
• To carry out laboratory work related to semen analysis/ gene polymorphism
• Computation of data
• and report writing

Junior Research Fellow (One) ICMR project*
Qualification: Essential: M. Sc. in Zoology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology/ Toxicology/ Biotechnology or other related subjects with good academic record and passed the National written test like UGC-CSIR NET, ICMR for JRF or lecturership

Junior Technical Assistant (One) ENVIS project
Qualifications : Essential- M. Sc. in Biological science/ Bioinformatics/ information technology or other related subjects with good academic record
Desirable: Experience in retrieval of information and/or Laboratory work
Job Requirement:
• Information/data collection, data analysis and preparing of News letter bibliographies/  and report preparation/ laboratory work
* In case NET qualified/JRF/LS/ICMR exam candidates are not available, the JRF post can be considered for Research Assistant as per the rules of ICMR./DST. Age limit for SRF below 35 yrs. and for other posts is below 28 years. Age relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates as per rules.
The interested candidates meeting above mentioned conditions of eligibility may appear for the walk-in-interview at National Institute of Occupational Health, Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad-380016 on 8th September, 2010 at 10.30 a.m. Eligible candidate may also send their bio-data in advance by email ([email protected]) for information and their willingness to attend the interview. The candidates are to submit their detailed Bio-data along with the copies of certificates and testimonials at the time of reporting for interview. The original certificates may be submitted for verification on demand. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
