Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship Competition in USA
Approximately 60 Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowships are available for graduate study leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) degree. The fellowship provides three years of support. Fellowships are tenable at any fully accredited, nonprofit, nonproprietary U.S. institution of higher education offering a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree in the eligible fields of study. The application deadline is November 20, 2015 and supplementary materials must be submitted by January 10th, 2017.

Scholarships for African Students at Graduate Institute in Switzerland
The Graduate Institute, Geneva offers need-based scholarships to students from Africa to undertake a MA or PhD in its discipline: international history, international economics, political science/international relations, anthropology and sociology of development, international law, and development economics. There are 20 scholarships available for one year renewable for the period of study. The application deadline is 15 January, 2017.

NEDTC Fully-Funded Postgraduate Studentships in UK, 2017
The North East Doctoral Training Centre (NEDTC) is offering 40 fully-funded postgraduate studentships in the social sciences at either the universities of Durham or Newcastle in the 2016/17 academic year. Award-holders with a comprehensive and attractive package of financial support over the duration of their studies. The deadline for submitting your application and supporting documentation for NEDTC’s 2016/17 studentship competition is 5:00pm on Monday 1 February 2017.

International Research Fellowships at Humboldt University in Germany
The International Research Center “Work and Human Lifecycle in Global History” at Humboldt University in Berlin invites applications for ten international research fellowships. Candidates from various disciplines including history, anthropology, law, sociology, political sciences, geography, economics, and area studies. Applicants should be at the postdoctoral level or senior scholars. Application deadline is 22nd January, 2017.

Departmental Academic Scholarship
Emporia State University is offering scholarship for undergraduate continuing students. The scholarship is provided in the field of Sociology, Anthropology, and Crime and Delinquency Studies. Recipients must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours) during the period for which they receive a scholarship. The deadline for application is February 12, 2017.

Dr. L. Jill Loucks Memorial Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded to anthropology majors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement. Students are invited to submit an application for Loucks Memorial Scholarships in the early spring.  On average, approximately $1,000 is available for these scholarships in a given year.  

Volkmar Risch Memorial Scholarship
The Risch Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Volkmar Risch. Recipient must be majoring in the School of World Studies with a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Graduating seniors are not eligible. They must demonstrate a dedication and commitment to the study of German.

Marianne Burns Brown Memorial Scholarship
The Marianne Burns Brown Memorial Scholarship at Virginia Commonwealth University was established in 2004 in honor of her lifetime of community service. Applicants must demonstrated success in inspiring, encouraging or recruiting others to become volunteers in the community.

PhD Research Fellowships in Social Anthropology at University of Oslo in Norway
University of Oslo is inviting applications for PhD research fellowships in social anthropology. Applicants must have at least five years higher education including a two-year master’s degree or equivalent in social anthropology. Each position is for four years and will include 25% teaching, supervision and examination.

Arryman Fellows Awards for Indonesian Students in USA
Indonesian Scholarship and Research Support Foundation (ISRSF) invite applications for Arryman Fellows Awards from Indonesian graduates holding at least S1 degree. This award is an innovative “1+6” educational scholarship leading to the doctoral degree. Fellows take graduate classes for credit in their chosen field of study, receive advanced English language training, and write a major research paper. Arryman Fellows who are successfully admitted during their first year to a Northwestern Ph.D. program are eligible to become Arryman Scholars. The application deadline is December 31st, 2015.

Macgeorge Fellowships and Honorary Fellowships in Australia
The University of Melbourne is offering Macgeorge Fellowships and Honorary Fellowships for Australian and international visitors to undertake an uninterrupted period of research, writing or creative endeavour. They must be nominated by an appropriate Department of the University of Melbourne to be eligible, and the Department/School/Faculty must give the nominee an Honorary appointment as a Visitor to the University if the nomination is successful. Successful Macgeorge Fellows will undertake the Fellowship for the period July 2016 to June 2017.

Hunt Postdoctoral Fellowships, 2017
The fellowships are awarded to scholars in the earlier stages of their careers. A maximum of eight Hunt Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded annually. Applicants must have received a Ph.D. or equivalent within ten years of the application deadline. Hunt Postdoctoral Fellowships are nonrenewable, and provide US $40,000 of financial support for twelve months of continuous full-time writing.

Dr. Christina Turner Award, 2017
The Dr. Christina Turner Award was established in 2008 to commemorate Dr. Turner’s lifelong achievement in teaching. Applicants must be Junior or senior student in the School of World Studies with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Stephen Richard Weller Memorial Scholarship
The Weller scholarship recipient is chosen on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. Students are invited to submit an application for the Weller Memorial Scholarship in the early spring. It is specifically designated for students majoring in Anthropology. On average, approximately $500 is available through this scholarship.
