SOAS University of London is proud to announce the SOAS Future Leaders Scholarship—a prestigious new award designed to support outstanding Master’s students who are ready to lead change and shape a better future.
The educational award is open to new applicants for full-time, on-campus, one-year taught master’s programmes beginning in the 2025/26 academic year. Both Home and Overseas fee status applicants may apply. Ideal candidates will hold a First-Class Honours degree (or international equivalent), though those with a 2.1 may also be considered. Preference is given to those who have not previously studied at the postgraduate level.

- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for any 1-year full-time taught master’s degree programme offered on-campus by SOAS University of London.
Note: Part-time, 2-year, Online Learning, pre-sessional, and short courses are not eligible. - Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a new applicant for a 1-year full-time on-campus Master’s programme at SOAS, starting in 2025/26.

Hold, or expect to achieve, a First-Class Honours degree from a UK university or an international equivalent. Candidates with a 2.1 may apply but will not be given preference.

Preference is given to applicants without an existing Master’s qualification or prior postgraduate study.

Must meet the English language requirements of their offer (if applicable).

Submit a complete application to their chosen Master’s programme before applying for the scholarship.

Submit a scholarship application, including a supporting statement of up to 800 words demonstrating academic achievements, leadership experiences, and commitment to positive societal impact.

Must have received an unconditional offer by the time the scholarship panel meets.
How to Apply
Step 1: Apply for your Programme
First, apply for a 1-year full-time taught Master’s programme at SOAS via the Taught Masters applications page.
Step 2: Apply for the Scholarship
Once your programme application is submitted, complete the online scholarship application form by 12:00pm (midday) UK time on 15 May 2025.
