Eligibility: The applicant should achieve the following percentage grade on their high school diploma to be accepted to the corresponding institutions:
Institute of religious studies (65% or higher)
Information Technology (80% or higher)
Colleges of Applied Sciences (80% or higher)
Sultan Qaboos University (the applicant can be accepted in any undergraduate program except the Faculty of Medicine and Health Services, provided that the applicant meets the minimum requirements for the program choice).

Scholarship Description: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Washington, D.C. has recently launched the scholarship competition for the Omani program for cultural and scientific cooperation. The Sultanate of Oman is offering one undergraduate university scholarship for a Canadian student in academic year 2013-2014. Funding for subsequent years is conditional on the student’s academic performance. This program aims to provide an opportunity for students of select countries to enhance the understanding of Oman, its people and traditions. All transcripts and certificates should be translated into either English or Arabic.

What does it cover? The recipient of the scholarship will receive:
one round trip airplane ticket per year;
allowances for residence, living expenses, and transportation equal to 200 Omani Rials ($518 US) monthly; and
free medical treatment in government hospitals (except for medical fees which result from traffic accidents, driving uninsured vehicles, or driving a vehicle without the possession of an eligible driver’s license).

Selection Criteria: Funding for subsequent years is conditional on the student’s academic performance.
