UBS Center fully-funded programmes for International Students at University of Zurich in Switzerland, 2014

Zurich Graduate School of Economics is offering three fully-funded positions on outstanding academic merit basis for entry in September 2014. These full opportunities are open to international graduates to enable them to take up their doctoral studies at the Zurich Graduate School of Economics. The UBS Center Scholarships cover living expenses and all fees. The stipend covering living expenses is in line with the guidelines from the Swiss National Science Foundation, which currently stands at CHF 42’000 per year for first year PhD students, increasing to CHF 48’000 per year for third-year and fourth-year PhD students. The application deadline is January 31, 2014.

Study Subject (s): The studentships are awarded within the Zurich Graduate School of Economics. While preference may be given to students whose research plans include areas of interest of the UBS International Center of Economics in Society, applications from all areas are welcomed.
Course Level: The studentships are available for pursuing doctoral studies at the Zurich Graduate School of Economics.

Eligibility: –The studentships are open to graduates from around the world, they are awarded to candidates on the grounds of outstanding academic merit and continuing support will be subject to satisfactory completion of course work. While preference may be given to students whose research plans include areas of interest of the UBS International Center of Economics in Society, applications from all areas are welcomed.
-Admission to the Zurich Graduate School of Economics is a pre-condition for being considered for a UBS Center Scholarship.
-Scholarship holders are free to choose their supervisor and have no mandatory duties beyond the completion of the course work and their doctorate.

Description:  Every year, the UBS International Center of Economics in Society awards several fully-funded positions to outstanding international graduates to enable them to take up their doctoral studies at the Zurich Graduate School of Economics.

Duration of award(s): These full financial aid positions will be awarded for a period of four years, subject to satisfactory completion of course work.

How to Apply: On the one hand applicants need to apply for admission to the Zurich Graduate School of Economics (see details on the departmental webpage) where they indicate that they are applying for a UBS Center Scholarship. On the other hand applicants need to fill in the special UBS Center application form below. The completed form should be sent to scholarship-at-ubscenter.uzh.ch by January 31, 2014, at the latest. The UBS Center will approach the Zurich Graduate School of Economics directly for copies of the applicant’s curriculum vitae, statement of purpose and reference letters.
