UNE Country Scholarships for Undergraduate Students in Australia, 2014

The University of New England is inviting applications for undergraduate scholarships for Australian citizen or permanent resident. The value of scholarship is $6,000 per annum. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance in the NSW HSC, or equivalent. The recipient will commence full-time, on-campus studies at the University of New England in an undergraduate course in the year following application and reside in one of the UNE residences for at least the first year. The application deadline is 30th September 2014.

Eligibility: To apply, you must:
-be completing Year 12 and gap year/s students who are commencing university study for the first time in the year following application and who will be aged 21 or under at the start of the academic teaching year, and students who have already been admitted to UNE under the gifted and talented arrangements with the NSW Board of Studies.
-have applied for admission to an undergraduate course at the University of New England and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident as defined by the Commonwealth refer.
-have an ATAR of at least 86.30 (or equivalent).
-have a residential address must be either regional or remote as defined by the Government Remoteness Tool.
-applied to live in a UNE Residential College for at least the first year.

Scholarship Description: University of New EnglandThe University of New England has established undergraduate scholarships to support country students who have a record of academic achievement, and have been involved in leadership positions in school and the community. Some scholarships are funded by donations or grants from individuals or organisations and may include specific criteria beyond the usual University requirements.

Number of award(s): Up to 28 undergraduate scholarships are awarded.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for duration of the course. The scholarship is payable directly into the recipient’s bank account in two installments within a month of the Trimester One and Two census dates.

What does it cover? The value of scholarship is $6,000 per annum starting from 2012.

Selection Criteria: The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance in the NSW HSC, or equivalent. The Undergraduate Scholarships Committee will also consider: involvement and leadership in school and community activities; and commitment to the proposed course.
