The very first MBA program was started in 1943, and since then it has been offering the best course for students. Each of the business courses are focused on educational approach that makes it the leading business school in the world. The very first Executive MBA program was started in 1943, under the proposal put down by Willard Graham, and was inspired by World War II economy.

Chicago Booth MBA offers complete range of MBA programs which includes – Full-Time MBA, Evening MBA, Weekend MBA and Executive MBA. All these programs are offered by world-class faculty guiding students to gain excess to business world.

Below is the brief description of each program offered by the Business School:

Executive MBA

This course is specially designed for working managers and directors. There are special exchange courses for students combined from all three campuses. The course is designed for 90 students following set of curriculum. The curriculum gives a basic understanding of accounting, economics laws, psychology and communication. The executive MBA course is the oldest one and is 21 months long program and held in Asia, Europe and North America.

(a) Executive MBA Curriculum– The curriculum is designed to help working professionals understanding to get in the business. Students need to take up 17 courses together for 21 months course. Each student then will select 3 – 5 electives for completing the course of study.  Course offered are- Foundations, Functions, Management and Business Environment.

In Electives, students can personalize the program as per the requirement. Depending on the choice, students can take up 3 out of five elective courses.

Weekend MBA

The Weekend MBA program is of 3 years with 2 courses per quarter. There are 20 courses available, including Lead. This course is ideal for candidates leaving out Chicago and residents of the Chicago who want to pursue their career path while studying. Candidate with average age of 30 and 6 years of working experience is ideal for this course. Classes are conducted on Friday and Saturday. It is hugely beneficial for heavy traveler and non-residents. 

Evening MBA

The evening MBA course is conducted every week from 6 – 9 pm at Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago.  The program length is of 3 years with average 2 courses each quarter. Similar to other MBA programs, evening MBA has 20 courses and are divided into different categories: Foundations (3 courses), Functions, Management and Business Environment (6 courses) and Electives (11 courses).

In Electives, you can define what areas you want to study and build toward completing your concentrations. 

Full Time MBA Program

This full time program is flexible curriculum and is a 2 year program. It is offered in Charles M. Harper Center, in Hyde Park campus.  There are total 21 courses includes in this full time program. To complete the course, student need to complete 20 classes, plus lead. The entire MBA programs focus on areas like-

(c) Analytic Management
(d) Econometrics and Statistics
(e) Economics
(f) Entrepreneurship
(g) Finance
(h) HRM
(i) International Business
(j) Operations Management

Apart from regular MBA course, student must take up Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD), course which is included in every MBA program. By doing this course, students can work on management skills, team building and giving feedback.

Financing MBA

Chicago Booth MBA also offers financial grants to student pursuing MBA programs from the business school.  The grant is offered in the form of student loans, merit-based scholarships and fellowships.

There are four different loans for US Citizens and US Permanent residents:

-Federal Direct Stafford Student Loan: The Federal Direct Stafford loan is available to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents who enroll in two or more courses each quarter.

-Federal Perkins Loan: This loan is limited to full-time second-year campus students only.

-Federal Direct GradPlus Loan: This loan is a credit-based loan and is subject to the same rules and regulations as all other federal financial aid programs.

-Private, Credit based Alternative Loan: Students can borrow up to the cost of attendance (which is set by the financial aid office) minus any other financial assistance.

Scholarships and Fellowships

Chicago Booth MBA provides partial tuition fee awards for eligible full time MBA students.  Below is the specification:

-Merit-Based Awards: This is purely financial awards made to help exceptional students meet their educational expenses.

-Chicago Booth Fellowships:  This fellowship offers more than the financial assistance for students, and is structured to foster long-term career mentoring relationships with Chicago Booth faculty, alumni, and corporate leaders.

-Corporate Fellowships:  Jointly funded by Chicago Booth and corporations, are designed to attract diverse candidates towards the course.

PhD Program

Chicago Booth’s PhD program in business helps in training aspiring business scholars with innovative research. This is the 5 years full time course where students began their course with active research. With immense research and participating in workshops students are trained well to understand the business world.
