As a student if you are looking to attend a college or university in Florida State, the University of Florida is one of the top level universities. The university is the home to sixteen academic colleges and more than 150 research centers and institutes that offer not only multiple graduate professional programs but also provide financial aids in the form of various scholarships, fellowships and study abroad programs.

Here, we have compiled a list of the University of Florida scholarships. These scholarships are available for both incoming freshmen from Florida, out of state or abroad and already enrolled students. These are based either on academic achievement or financial need. Each scholarship having different deadlines varies in terms of its eligibility criteria and applying procedures. Types of Scholarships:

Academic Scholarships:

The university multiple academic scholarships as follows:
-The Office of admissions academic scholarships are available to selected incoming freshman students on the basis of residency. Applications should be submitted till November 1 and mid-December.
-Office of undergraduate affairs scholarships include following scholarships: Florida College Transfer Academic Scholarship (FCTAS) of $4000 to transfer in-state community college students selected to the All-Florida Academic First Team; Florida College Transfer Scholarship (FCTS) with a value of $1000 to $2000 for qualified Florida residents; Tuition Exchange Program available for employee dependents attend colleges and universities other than their home institution and Athletic Scholarships for  students or their high school coach.
-Dean of Students Office awards University Women’s Club Scholarships of $1,000 and Cheryl Ziegert Memorial Scholarship to female UF students with learning disabilities.
-Department of Housing and Residence Education awards Randall J. Bodner and Gary W. Faircloth Scholarship of $500to recognize and reward outstanding leadership. Applicants must be full-time students in good standing and must be directly involved in residence hall activities an area/hall government. The department also provides Cathie Ponikvar/NRHH Award to a continuing student who reflects strong leadership and maintains the best academic record possible.
-Florida Museum of Natural History awards R. Jerry Britt, Jr., Paleobiology Scholarship to advanced undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at UF who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and Miss Lucy Dickinson Scholarship to the graduate program of an appropriate department (e.g., zoology, geology, anthropology, or wildlife) at UF.
-Student Health Care Center provides Gareth Kerr Memorial Scholarship of $500 to UF student who has demonstrated interest, commitment, and passion for the health and well being of fellow students and/or the UF community at large.
-John V. Lombardi Scholarship Program includes two types of scholarships i.e. Penelope W. and E. Roe Stamps IV Leadership Scholar Awards of $2,700 each fall and spring semester for 8-10 semesters, depending on the student’s major and Albert G. Raybun Scholarship to juniors following a pre-medical course of study, to support them during their senior year.
-Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarships are available to Florida resident first-time-in-college freshmen students and undergraduate renewal students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds whose parents have not earned a bachelor’s degree.

2). UF Levin College of Law Scholarships: 

The Levin College of Law classifies its scholarships into following three categories:
-Merit Based Scholarships are awarded for entering students. Selection will be based on information collected in the application for admission.
-Merit-Need Based Scholarships are available to students who show high achievement and have the electronic FAFSA results on file with the Levin College of Law by March 15 for fall entrants.
-Second and Third Year Student Scholarships include numerous scholarships as follows: A.H. Burnett Law Scholarship; Benjamin H. Ayres Scholarship; Atwood Dunwody Scholarship; Central Florida Women’s Leadership Scholarship; Cypen and Cypen Scholarship; etc.
-Other Scholarships include Accident Survivor Law Scholarship; Aspiring Attorney and Scholarship; Auger & Auger Disabled Scholar Award; DUI Victim Scholarship; Financial Success for Single Mothers Scholarship; Mike EIDSON Scholarship; Lamber-Goodnow Scholarship; etc.

3). UF College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS):

For the 2016-2017 academic year, CALS has awarded $527,900 to 405 students. The college awards two types of scholarships as follows:
-Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards are available for all full-time undergraduate students enrolled in or entering the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences or the Biological Engineering major. The college also provides various awards for outstanding juniors and seniors.
Graduate Scholarships, Awards and Travel Grants include various multiple graduate student fellowships, scholarships and grants in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The applications for these scholarships are due on 15 April.

4). UF College of Education Scholarships:

The college of Education of following two types of scholarships:
-Junior Minority Scholarship of $2,000 per semester for two years (four semesters) is available for African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian-American/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaskan undergraduates with junior status.
-International Study Abroad Scholarship is for undergraduate and graduate students looking to gain perspective and experience from a study abroad program to later take into the educational field.
-Junior, Senior and Graduate Scholarships are for students who will be enrolled in Fall 2016 or have applied for admission in Fall 2016.
-Undergraduate Scholarships include Lancaster Scholarship of $1,000 to a professional teacher education program; J. W. Martin and A. M. Martin Phillips Scholarship of $4,000; Mary Bradshaw Wood Award of $500 and Shirley M. Cowans Scholarship of $1000.
-Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships include various scholarships for graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the college of Education. Mostly scholarships are based on financial need.
-Graduate Scholarships consist of multiple scholarships of various amounts for entering graduate students.

5). UF Scholarships for Honors Program:

This category includes various opportunities offered through the Honors Program such as scholarships for current Honors students, and study abroad programs as follows:
-Lombardi and Stamps Scholarships consist up to eight Lombardi Scholars and up to three Stamps Scholars, based on the student’s application, which includes an essay and an interview. Preference will be given to Florida residents.
-Scholarships for Current Honors Students include following scholarships: Wentworth Scholarships consist freshmen scholarships and travel scholarships of up to $ 500.00 to honors students for projects involving undergraduate research; Partners in the Parks Wentworth Scholarship to participate in the National Partners in the Parks program; Honors Program Summer Study Abroad Scholarships of up to $1000 each to UF undergraduate, current UF Honors student and Albert G. Raybun Scholarship, a need-based scholarship for juniors following a pre-medical course of study, to support them during their senior year.
-Incoming Student Scholarships include multiple scholarships i.e. Southern Scholarship Foundation, Out-of-State Tuition Reductions, Athletic Scholarships and Music Scholarships for both Florida residents and non Florida residents.

6). UF International Center (UFIC) Scholarships:

The UF International Center sponsors a large number of study abroad scholarships as follows:
-The Daniel Sinclair Bredahl Scholarships are available to UF undergraduates studying abroad for at least 90 days. There is one Academic Year scholarship for $ 4000, three Fall semester scholarships for $ 2000 each and one Spring semester scholarship for $ 2000.
-The Sones Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate STEM students undertaking major-related coursework on an approved study abroad program or participating in a credit-bearing research project in a French institute.
-UF International Center Scholarships are available to students studying for a semester or academic year on either a UF Sponsored or UF Approved program.
-UFIC Summer Scholarships of $ 1,000 each are available to students who are attending UF Sponsored summer programs.
-UFIC Summer Merit Scholarships of $1000 to students with a minimum of 3.5 GPA and are attending UF Sponsored or UF Approved Summer programs.
-Wentworth Honors Scholarships of $1000 are available for Honors students.
-Irene Phillips Alliance Scholarships are designated specifically for Alliance Scholars. The number and amount of awards vary. These scholarships are available for both the summer and semester terms.
-Learning without Borders Study Abroad Scholarship of $3,000 each is available to students who are Pell Grant recipients attending UF Sponsored summer programs.

7). UF Foundation scholarships and Fellowships:

The UF foundation awards various scholarships and fellowships. These are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic, athletic or artistic talent. Awards are also available for students who are interested in particular fields of study, who live in certain areas of the country or who demonstrate financial need. There also multiple endowed scholarships available. Students who have received these scholarships often note that this help came at a time when they were unsure they could be able to continue their studies.

8). UF McNair Scholars Program:

This program supports undergraduate college students from low-income, first-generation and underrepresented backgrounds in their progress towards a Ph. D degree. Each McNair Scholar receives a stipend of up to $2,800 disbursed over the academic year while they are in the program. Stipends will be awarded as scholars fulfill requirements in accordance with guidelines set by the McNair Scholars Program and the US Department of Education.
