University of Strathclyde Scholarships for International Students in UK, 2017-2018

Applications are invited for University of Strathclyde Scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year. These scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate research and postgraduate taught programs.

The Strathclyde Business School aspires to be independent both academically and financially, elevated in the different aspects of knowledge and to link the programs and research it offers with the requirements of permanent development in the UK.

  • Engineering Excellence Scholarship: Scholarship of Up to £3,500 helps towards the tuition fees.

Eligibility:

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for these scholarships:

  • EU & International Hardship Fund:
  •  Registered students of the University shall be eligible to apply to the Fund if they meet the following criteria:
  • You have fallen into financial hardship after starting your course of study with an appropriate funding arrangement in place
  • You are not eligible to apply to the University Discretionary Fund by virtue of your residence status
  • Payment from the fund would make a significant contribution to your ability to continue your studies successfully; and
  • You are unable to meet your immediate living costs through your existing funding.
  • Flexible MBA Visionary Scholarship 2016:
  • Please note that we are unable to consider candidates who do not hold an offer of a place on the programme. Students already registered on the programme are ineligible to apply. The successful candidates for the awards will be notified by the mid-September 2016. Awards will automatically be deducted from tuition fees.
  • MBA Flexible Learning – Female Leader of the Future Scholarship:
  • Please note that we are unable to consider candidates who do not hold an offer of a place on the programme. Students already registered on the programme are ineligible to apply. Awards will automatically be deducted from tuition fees.
  • MBA Part-Time – Entrepreneurial Scholarship:
  • Successful candidates will possess an entrepreneurial background and currently be the owner or manager of a start-up organisation. Candidates must demonstrate through their ideas, experience and achievements that they are an excellent team player, with a strong vision for the future. Leadership/management skills or potential, overall quality of the application and financial need will also be considered. The award will be judged on a 1000 word statement supplied by each candidate that should state which scholarship you wish to be considered for and should clearly articulate how you meet the scholarship criteria.
  • MBA Part-Time – Female Leader of the Future Scholarship:
  • Please note that we are unable to consider candidates who do not hold an offer of a place on the programme. Students already registered on the programme are ineligible to apply. Awards will automatically be deducted from tuition fees.
  • Dean’s International Excellence Awards: Humanities and Social Sciences:
  • To apply for a Dean’s International Excellence Awards: Humanities & Social Sciences, candidates must:
  • Be available to commence their academic studies in the UK by the start of the academic year in September/October 2016.
  • Hold a first degree at first or upper second-class Honours, or equivalent.
  • Hold an unconditional offer to their Master’s programme and have made their £2000 deposit payment towards their tuition fees.
  • Indonesia-UK DIKTI Scholarship Programme:
  • Applicants must be a permanent or prospective faculty member at an Indonesian University*, or administrative staff in DIKTI, or administrative staff in an Indonesian State University*
  • * Only staff at Indonesian universities under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Culture are eligible for the scholarship
  • to meet UK Borders Agency (UKBA) minimum English language requirements to be eligible for the Tier 4 (general) visa. Please note that UK Universities will normally require higher levels of English language proficiency. You will need to check requirements with each University
  • For PhD study you would normally be expected to hold a Master’s degree or equivalent, however in some cases, having extensive research experience in your chosen field might be enough but this varies from institution to institution and the requirements of your PhD supervisor. For master’s study, you would be expected to hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Engineering Excellence Scholarship:
  • All self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying students holding an offer for the Faculty of Engineering and wishing to commence their full-time undergraduate, postgraduate taught or postgraduate research Engineering programme at Strathclyde in September 2016 are eligible to apply.

Nationality: Applicants from the UK, EU, and EEA as well as international applicants are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: The application process is different in each scholarship.
  • Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have their previous degree.
  • English Language Requirement: The University accepts a number of English language tests as proof of proficiency in English. IELTS is the most widely available, and our current standard requirements are IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5).
