  • How to Apply: In order to apply for this funding programme, students must take admission in a PhD by Research programs at the university. After being enrolled, they will complete an online application form for this scholarships
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must upload all the following supporting documents:
  • A research proposal (1,000 to 1,500 words, not exceeding 3 pages) outlining the knowledge of the research area, hypotheses, and potential methods.
  • Current degree transcript(s) with full details of performance on all completed courses.
  • Two academic references.
  • An up-to-date CV.
  • A document summarizing any teaching experience and illustrating suitability for a Doctoral Tutor role.
  • International students should provide evidence of English Language proficiency.
  • Admission Requirements: Candidates must have a First or a high Upper Second Class Honours undergraduate degree or equivalent, and/or a Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
  • Language Requirement: International students must meet the English Language requirements as outlined on the PhD home page.

Benefits

The University of Sussex will cover the following study expenses:

  • A stipend for 3 years (£18,622 per year for 2023/24).
  • UK or International fees covered for 3 years.
  • Research/training costs of £750 per year covered for 3 years.
  • Opportunity for Doctoral Tutoring with payment at Grade 6 (£17.38 per hour).
  • School-funded Postgraduate Researchers have the opportunity to take up Doctoral Tutoring during the PhD.
  • Up to 7 scholarships available for September 2024.
