Eligibility
- Eligible Countries: Domestic and international students both can apply.
- Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for a PhD degree programme in the Faculty of Science.
- Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
- Be currently enrolled in Higher Degree by Research course within Faculty of Science at the time of application
- Not have consumed the maximum candidature for their degree as per the University of Sydney (Higher Degree by Research) Rule 2011Policy at the time of application closing date
- Not currently hold another primary scholarship for the intended duration of this Scholarship
- Have completed at least 1.5 Equivalent Full Time Student Load (EFTSL) (MPhil recipients) of candidature, and PhD recipients must have completed at least 3 EFTSL of candidature
- Have a reasonable expectation of submitting their thesis within 6 months from the commencement of the award
- Not have submitted thesis by the closing date of application.
How to Apply
- How to Apply: The students must first submit an online application form. Eligible applicants will be considered for the scholarship award.
- Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
- Scholarship documentation
- English language results
- Academic transcripts
- Marriage/change of name certificate/identification
- Degree certificates
- Admission Requirements: The applicants must have an honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or equivalent or have a master’s degree.
- Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
- IELTS – 6.5
Benefits
The scholarship program would provide:
- A one-off stipend allowance of $7,000 (full-time enrolment).
- Academic Tuition fee (international students only) for the research period(s) related to the award period(s).
- A recipient enrolled part-time will be provided with a stipend allowance of $3,500 for a period of 6 months, i.e. two instalments @$3,500.
