The University of Nottingham offers Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence in the UK. This scholarship is open to the applicants who already hold an offer to start a full-time research degree programme, Ph.D. or MPhil, at our Nottingham campus with a start date that falls between 01 October 2019 and 01 February 2020 (inclusive), in any subject area excluding Engineering.

Eligibility: You can apply for this scholarship if you:

  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes and
  • already hold an offer to start a full-time research degree programme, Ph.D. or MPhil, at our Nottingham campus with a start date that falls between 01 October 2019 and 01 February 2020 (inclusive), in any subject area excluding Engineering.
  • note that these scholarships are for up to each of 3 years of a research programme, subject to satisfactory progress.
  • They welcome applications from suitable candidates but would particularly value applications from strong candidates wishing to work within the research priority areas of each faculty. Please check with individual faculties via the links below regarding their areas of research:
  • Arts
  • Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Science
  • Social Sciences
