Visiting Research Fellowships for Postdoctoral Researchers in Germany, 2017

Zentrum Moderner Orient Berlin (ZMO) and the Berlin Graduate School of Muslim Cultures and Societies (BGSMCS) are inviting applications for Visiting Research Fellowships for the calendar year of 2017.

These fellowships are open to senior researchers and recent postdocs in the humanities and the social sciences. They are invited to apply for a monthly stipend (2500 EUR, covering all expenses including travel and accommodation) and a period of stay that should not exceed two months.

Scholarship can be taken in Germany

Eligibility: The call is open for senior researchers and recent postdocs in the humanities and the social sciences. University particularly encourages applications from candidates from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Scholars currently residing in Berlin are not eligible to apply.

Nationality: International applicants can apply for these visiting research fellowships.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Senior researchers and recent postdocs in the humanities and the social sciences are eligible to apply.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirement: The candidate should have a very good command over the English language.

How to Apply: Applications should be sent electronically by email only, and include:

  • Application form
  • A brief cover letter (1 page) indicating clearly for which institution you are applying and, if you are applying to ZMO, your preferred research group affiliation
  • Description of a research project to be worked upon during visit (max. 3 pages)
  • CV, including complete list of publications
  • PhD certificate (or proof of submission)
