Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Applications will be accepted from all around the world.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in earth science (Study area – Science).
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must support developing researchers in obtaining a highly valued research experience in Queensland.
  • Students who have already received/accepted a PhD scholarship offer and/or have already enrolled in or commenced a PhD program are not eligible.
  • The scholarship is available for domestic or international students.
  • Successful students must commence their studies at the host university by 30 June 2023.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply:  To be considered for the award, students must be applying for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)in the area of earth sciences hosted by one of these universities: The University of Queensland (QUT), Queensland University of Technology (UQ), and James Cook University (JCU).
  • Supporting Documents:  Students will be asked to submit their copies of academic transcripts or certificates, a copy of their passport, curriculum vitae, language ability proof, and a brief statement outlining why they are applying and how this fits into their future careers.
  • Admission Requirements: To study for the Doctor of Philosophy, students will need to present a transcript of post-graduation, and in some institutions, international students must also pass an entrance exam.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants should check the English language requirements when studying at the Queensland University of Technology. QUT accept test results from:
  • IELTS (Academic)
  • TOEFL iBT (Internet-based)
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)
