German Bundestag offers International Parliamentary scholarships to highly qualified, dedicated, open-minded and politically interested young men and women who have the will to shape the democratic future of their country actively and responsibly. IPS promotes exchange, understanding and cooperation between the participation countries and Germany and supports the formation of networks. The IPS program takes a total of 5 months and is composed of events, seminars and an internship at Members of the German Bundestag. The International Parliamentary scholarship includes a monthly allowance of 450 EUR, free accommodation and a health, accident and liability insurance. In addition, the cost of arrival and departure are taken to and from Berlin.

Study Subject (s): The scholarship holders are enrolled in the summer semester as a student at the Humboldt University in Berlin and at the request as a side listener in one of the other universities. The applicant can visit during the summer term of up to two courses at the Humboldt University in Berlin or one of the other universities in Berlin. In addition, they participate in a scientific accompanying the Free University, Humboldt University and the Technical University. In addition, the fellows will be introduced in studies seminars political foundations in the political, economic and cultural life of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Eligibility:
-Citizenship of a participating country
-university degree
-very good German language skills (at Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
-younger than 30 years at the beginning of the scholarship
-Career goal: work in the field of public life in the home country (media, political parties, associations, civil service, etc.)

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Applicants from following participating countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, German BundestagBelarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, France, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary and USA can apply for this Germany scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The German Bundestag awards with the Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin every year about 120 scholarships for young graduates from 28 nations. The program lasts each year from 1 March to 31 July. The program is under the auspices of the President of the Bundestag. Objectives are:
-To promote relations between Germany and the countries participating in
-to strengthen democratic values and tolerance
-To deepen understanding of cultural diversity
-peaceful coexistence in the world to secure.

Number of awards): The German Bundestag awards with the Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin every year about 120 scholarships for young graduates from 28 nations.

Duration of award(s): The IPS program takes a total of 5 months (March 1 to July 31) and is composed of events, seminars and an internship at a Member of the German Bundestag. France: The program takes ten months.

What does it cover? The International Parliamentary scholarship includes a monthly allowance of 450 EUR, free accommodation and a health, accident and liability insurance. In addition, the cost of arrival and departure are taken to and from Berlin. 

Selection CriteriaThe IPS is open to highly qualified, dedicated, open-minded and politically interested young men and women who have the will to shape the democratic future of their country active and responsible. The scholarship recipients are selected by an independent selection committee of the German Bundestag with the participation of universities in Berlin due to technical, social, linguistic and intercultural competences.

Notification: The participants will be selected in a two-stage process. A first selection is made by the German Embassy in participating countries. The remaining candidates will be invited for an 2014 interview in the fall / winter spot where an independent selection committee of the German Bundestag meets a second selection based on technical, social, linguistic and intercultural competences of the candidates.
