TATA Trust Scholarships for Indian Students, 2014/15
The Tata trust offers two types of scholarships i.e. loan scholarships and scholarship programme. Applications are invited for the J. N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarships for the academic year 2014-2015. These scholarships are awarded to Indian students for postgraduate studies abroad in all disciplines. Selected scholars may also qualify for a gift scholarship to a maximum of Rs. 3,80,000 from the Jamsetji Tata Trust and a Travel Grant from the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. Application deadline is March 4, 2014.
Study Subject (s): Loan Scholarships are available for pursuing higher education in all areas and fields of study, with newly emerging fields of relevance to the country.
Course Level: Loan Scholarships are awarded to pursue higher studies irrespective of the course duration and the selected course being either a short-term training programme or a full-fledged Masters or Doctoral programme. Scholarship programme is available for undergraduate studies.

Eligibility: The eligibility criteria for this scholarship are:
-Only Indian nationals are eligible for the scholarship.
-Graduates from a recognised Indian University, with a consistently good academic record.
-Students in the final year of a degree course and those awaiting final-year results.
-Academicians and other mid-career professionals, up to the age of 45 years, with experience in their fields, who wish to go abroad for further specialised training.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of India can apply for these scholarships.

Tata Trust and loan scholarships which are awarded by J.N. Tata Endowment only. The loan amount (ranging between Rs. 60,000 and Rs.4,00,000) awarded to each scholar is determined by the norms laid down for the purpose and does not cover the full cost of studies. All applicants do not necessarily qualify for the maximum amount. Selected scholars may also qualify for a gift scholarship from the Jamsetji Tata Trust and a Travel Grant from the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, based on the sole discretion of the Trustees of the concerned Trusts. A gift scholarship can amount to a maximum of Rs. 3,80,000.

Notification: Loan Scholarships: Shortlisted candidates will be called in for a mandatory personal interview that is conducted by relevant subject experts in Mumbai, between the months of March and June.
How to Apply: Loan Scholarships: The application is to be made on a prescribed form available at the Endowment’s administrative office from December 9, 2013 to February 24, 2014. The prescribed form can be obtained either personally or on payment of an application fee of Rs.100 by cash, or by sending a request by a ‘Money Order’ or ‘Demand Draft’ drawn in favour of “The J. N. Tata Endowment” mentioning the applicant’s full name and address to enable the Endowment to post the form while online applications are invited for the scholarship programme.
Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is March 4, 2014 (loan scholarships). Online applications are invited for the scholarship programme which is announced on the website for a brief period in September/October every year. Interested students are requested to visit the website for more information on the guidelines and criteria.
