2015-2016 NABA Scholarships for MA Program in Fashion and Textile Design, Italy

New Academy of Fine Arts (NABA) announces competition for Fashion scholarships to attend the Master of Arts Degree in Fashion and Textile Design starting in October 2015. The three best projects will be awarded a scholarship for partial coverage of the tuition fee to attend the first year of the fashion scholarship. Scholarships can be extended to the second year of the program, as long as the students meet the required standards. The application deadline is April 30th 2015.

Eligibility:
-Candidates holding a first-level academic diploma or BA degree, or about to graduate within the academic year 2013/14 and with a knowledge of the Italian/English language (according to the medium of instruction of the program) equal to a B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
-The competition is open to young designers that adopt and recognize in fashion a language able to visually embrace the essence of the contemporary world (music, visual arts, humanistic culture, technical/scientific culture, craft and industrial technologies, experimentation and tradition).

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of Italy can apply for these NABA scholarships.

Scholarship Description: NABAThe competition aims to introduce potential students to their future teachers, who will assess their skills and background in order to determine their eligibility to attend the Master of Arts Degree in Fashion and Textile Design at NABA, Milan. Interested people are asked to introduce themselves by presenting an outfit or an accessory which reflects their own personality using the language of fashion.

Number of award(s): The three best projects will be awarded a scholarship.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for the first year of the MA in Fashion and Textile Design starting in October 2015. Scholarships can be extended to the second year of the program, as long as the students meet the required standards, namely 27/30 average of marks and a total of 40 credits of passed exams in the fall session of the academic year 2015/16.

What does it cover? The three best projects will be awarded a scholarship for partial coverage of the tuition fee to attend the first year of the MA in Fashion and Textile Design starting in October 2015.
-1st prize: n. 1 scholarship covering 60% of the tuition fee to attend the first year of the Program
-2nd prize: n. 1 scholarship covering 50% of the tuition fee to attend the first year of the Program
-3rd prize: n. 1 scholarship covering 40% of the tuition fee to attend the first year of the Program.

Notification: Candidates will be informed about the results of the competition by e-mail on May 18th 2015.

How to Apply: Projects in digital format must be uploaded online or sent by e-mail to int.info-at-naba.it. Paper works must be sent by post. Candidates are required to submit:
-Short description (max 200 words) of the concept of the project highlighting reasons supporting their choices
-Sketches and/or inspiration images
-Picture of the realized outfit/accessory
-Notes about the realization (i.e. sewn/made by the applicant, sewn/made by someone else, list of materials and techniques)
-Personal portfolio of works and projects/personal collection: (maximum 15 candidate’s best fashion design projects)
-Detailed curriculum vitae
-Motivation statement
-Copy of Degree Certificate
-Academic Transcripts
-NABA Two-Year MA Programs Application Form – Academic Year 2015
