AIST is inviting applications for AIST Ronald E. Lincoln Memorial Scholarship to study at an accredited North American college or university. Up to three US$3,000 one-year undergraduate scholarships will be awarded for the 2015—2016 school year to US students. Applicant should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. They must be a current university freshman, sophomore or junior. Applications must be submitted by 2nd March 2015.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded for studying materials science, metallurgical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, chemical, environmental and computer engineering majors.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for full-time undergraduate (freshman, sophomore and junior) students enrolled at an accredited North American college or university.

Scholarship Description: AIST Foundation Scholarship awards are intended to attract talented and dedicated students and to encourage them to pursue careers within the iron and steel industry. The AIST Foundation Board of Trustees administers the scholarships, which are open to currently enrolled college students. Students may re-apply each year.
Number of award(s): Three memorial scholarships will be awarded.
Duration of award(s): These memorial scholarships will be awarded for one year.
What does it cover? Up to three US$3,000 one-year scholarships will be awarded for the 2015—2016 school year. In addition, recipients will receive a one-year Material Advantage Membership.
Selection Criteria: Scholarships will be awarded to individuals who best exemplify the qualities of leadership and innovation for which Mr. Lincoln was so well known throughout his career. Applications will be evaluated and scored as follows:
-Steel Industry Interest – 35%
-Recommendation Letters – 30%
-Grades – 20%
-Extra-Curricular Activities – 15%

How to Apply: Applications should be sent via post or email and must be included following documents.
-Resume should include all work history with any links to the steel industry, leadership positions and extracurricular activities.
-An essay, not to exceed two pages in length should convey a demonstrated interest in a career in the steel industry, your professional goals, and how your skills could be applied to enhance the industry.
-Three letters of recommendation which should address character, academic status, leadership potential, career commitment, and any interest and/or connection to the steel industry.
-A current academic transcript or other official documentation of academic standing and performance which should show a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
