Scholarship for International Helicopter Professionals provides Introduction to Safety Management Systems (SMS)
Job description: This scholarship is for Helicopter Professionals already working in the helicopter industry, and who are in or already preparing to enter the Safety Management Field. The scholarship is meant to encourage a stronger focus on safety and safety education and training in helicopter operations.
Provides for full tuition for the Introduction to Safety Management Systems (SMS) course, a three-day course designed to equip personnel with the competencies necessary to construct and administer their organization’s SMS in accordance with international standards.
Course will be conducted by Baines Simmons Americas and typically offered at the FlightSafety International Training Center in Lafayette Louisiana.
Also includes a full registration to HELI-EXPO 2011, in Orlando, Florida including a banquet ticket at the Salute to Excellence Awards banquet courtesy of Helicopter Association International. Winner will be responsible for all attendant expenses for transportation, housing, etc.
The HFI Board of Directors has appointed a Selection Committee to select the scholarship winners. One scholarship in this category may be awarded in 2011.
