The Victoria University of Wellington is inviting applications for Bragato Postgraduate Scholarships for 2019 intake.

The Bragato Post Graduate Scholarship may be awarded annually by the Board of Trustees at their sole discretion. Only one scholarship per annul may be awarded.

The Scholarship may be awarded to a student who has completed a full time degree course at a recognized academic institution and who has enrolled for a Post Graduate course of study in New Zealand or overseas. Scholarship Description:

• Application Deadline: February 28, 2019.
Course Level: Scholarship is available to pursue Postgraduate Degree program.
Study Subject:Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
Scholarship Award: The Scholarship will be such amount as the Trustees agree up to a maximum of NZ$15,000 toward the cost of travel, accommodation, manuals, books, course fees, and course materials.
Number of Scholarships: Only one scholarship per annul may be awarded.
Nationality: The scholarship is available for New Zealand citizens.
Scholarship can be taken in New Zealand.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

Eligible Countries: The scholarship is available for New Zealand citizens.
Entrance Requirements:
• The Scholarship may be awarded to a student who has completed a full time degree course at a recognized academic institution and who has enrolled for a Post Graduate course of study in New Zealand or overseas. The applicant must be a New Zealand resident.
• The post graduate course must be at a university or other institution recognized for its post graduate courses in subjects of relevance to the viticulture and wine industry.
• Applicants will be required to show a strong academic background and objectives that will have a long term benefit to the New Zealand wine industry.
• An essay will be an important part of the selection process. Applicants will be required to submit an essay outlining their work experience to date (if any), study already undertaken, any research involvement to date, and their plans and aspirations upon completion of the post graduate course.
• Successful scholars will be required to furnish a written report at the end of the Scholarship year and may be required to present a paper at the Romeo Bragato Conference.
English language requirement: The English Proficiency Program (EPP) is an intensive English language program designed for students who have intermediate or advanced knowledge of English where English is their second language.
This program is 12 weeks of intensive English language study and aims to develop writing, reading, listening and speaking skills for academic study.
The EPP improves your performance in:
• reading and listening to complex information
• taking an active part in discussions
• expressing complex ideas and facts through speech and writing
• Becoming an independent learner of English.

• All applicants must complete and submit the application form for consideration by the scholarship panel. The university will aim to inform all candidates if their application has been considered successful by the closing date. All unsuccessful candidates will be written to after this date.
