Building Bharat-Boston Biosciences Programme (B4) Research Fellowships for Indians in USA, 2019

­The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University (The Mittal Institute) is inviting applications for Building Bharat-Boston Biosciences Programme (B4) starting from January 20, 2019. This scholarship is available for Indian citizens.

Fellows are expected to reside in the Cambridge area and to actively participate in the events and intellectual life of the Institute. In addition, Fellows will contribute to the greater Harvard community by teaching, mentoring and advising students.

The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University (The Mittal Institute) engage through interdisciplinary research to advance and deepen the understanding of critical issues relevant to South Asia and its relationship with the world.

Scholarship Description

  • Applications Deadline: September 25, 2018
  • Course Level: Fellowships are available to pursue research.
  • Study Subject: Fellowships are awarded in fields related to the biosciences at Harvard University and other institutions in the Boston area.
  • ScholarshipAward: INR 195,000/month for 18 months. Health insurance and round-trip economy travel expenses to and from Boston will also be provided.
  • Nationality: This scholarship is available for Indian citizens.
  • Number of Scholarships: Up to eight Science & Technology Fellowships for 2019-20 will be offered.
  • Scholarship can be taken in Harvard University and other institutions in the Boston area

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Scholars who have completed their PhD within the last five years from an institution in India in a bioscience-related field are eligible. Exceptional senior doctoral students, with demonstrable independence and maturity, may be considered. Applicants must be Indian citizens who are residing in India on Jan 20, 2019.

English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.
