Applications are open for the one-time doctoral scholarship for a high-achieving international or domestic student undertaking research related to global childhoods and early years. The Centre for Global Childhoods is pleased to offer the CGC PhD Scholarship in 2023.

The successful applicant will undertake a PhD thesis in the Centre for Global Childhoods, Faculty of Education and Social Work that aims to make a positive contribution towards the strategic research goals of the Centre, supervised by the Centre Director – Professor Marek Tesar.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities, including New Zealand
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for the PhD studies. Studies may also focus on social or environmental inequality and justice, and be conducted as cross-country studies within or outside of formal education settings in Aotearoa New Zealand or overseas.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • The program is available to domestic students and domestic fee-paying international students
  • Applicants who already have a doctorate are not eligible for consideration
  • M?ori and Pasifika applicants will be prioritized.
