The University of Queensland is recruiting PhD candidates to work on projects with its partner Queensland Police Service by offering them the CIRED Queensland Police Service (QPS) PhD Scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023. Applications are now accepted.

Higher Degree by Research programmes in the field of arts, humanities, and social sciences, business and economics, computer science and IT, education, engineering, health and medicine, science and mathematics at UQ can be undertaken in order to be eligible to win this scholarship. 2 students will be considered and be awarded a stipend worth $34,938 per annum.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All Australian national students, as well as foreign national students, are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for an HDR study programme in the field of arts, humanities, and social sciences, Business and Economics, Computer science and IT, Education, Engineering, Health and Medicine, Science and mathematics offered at the University of Queensland.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be nominated by the Principal Advisor and enrolling a school or institute at UQ.
  • The applicants must complete an interview process with the UQ supervisory team and industry or government partner.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: The students need to make an admission application via the online portal of the university. To apply for the scholarship, students must follow the steps below   under the scholarships and collaborative study section:
  • Select ‘My higher degree is not collaborative’
  • Select ‘I am applying for, or have been awarded a scholarship or sponsorship’.
  • Select ‘Other’, then ‘Research Project Scholarship’, and type in ‘CIRES-QPS’ in the ‘Name of scholarship’ field.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • a copy of your CV
  • academic transcripts
  • 2 reference letters
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the entry requirements of the University for HDR study.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL PBT – 570
  • TOEFL IBT – 87
  • IELTS – 7.0

Benefits

The University of Queensland will provide the selected candidates with $34,938 per annum. A top-up of $5,000 per annum is also available for students.
