CSIR Undergraduate and Postgraduate Bursary Programme in South Africa, 2018

Applications are invited for CSIR Bursary Programme which is open to South African students. Students wishing to register for undergraduate or honors degree for the 2017 academic year in the fields of science, engineering, and technology are eligible to apply for this bursary.

The CSIR Bursary Programme is open to all academically qualifying young people and also aims to attract and increase the participation of women and African people in fields of science, engineering, and technology.

Applicants must have a minimum of a Level 5 for English (First Language or a Level 4 for English Second Language in Grade 11).

Course Level: Bursaries are available to pursue undergraduate and honours programme.

Study Subject: Bursaries are awarded in the field of science and technology.

Scholarship Award: This is a comprehensive bursary that covers all the costs associated with university studies, such as the Registration Tuition Books Accommodation Living allowance Laptop allowance.

Eligibility

If the candidate is a South African citizen successfully pursuing a degree in a STEM field at a South African university or a Grade 12 learner aiming to study for a degree in a STEM field in 2017, they are eligible to apply for the CSIR bursary.

  • Grade 12 Learners: A minimum of a Level 5 for English (First Language or a Level 4 for English Second Language in Grade 11). Preferably at least a Level 6 for Mathematics and Physical Science in Grade 11.
  • University Students: Applicant must have passed all courses for the study period already completed.

Nationality: South African students are eligible to apply for these CSIR bursaries.
