Tarathi Agriculture Training Center Introduces New Dairy Diploma for International Students

The Wairarapa campus is situated 11kms south of Masterton, and is the main Tarathi campus. It is equipped with modern facilities for the students like gymnasium, swimming pool and rooms with all amenities.

Forty students, primarily from India will have the opportunity to get trained in the skills of dairy management through a two year course of study as confirmed by the center spokesperson Miekes Buckley. Due consideration of working visa for New Zealand will also be on cards for deserving students after the completion of the course.

It has been confirmed that a shortage is being experienced for skilled workers in the dairy industry of New Zealand and recruitments are engaging Taratahi Agricultural Training Centreforeign aspirants in the country.

Ms Buckley has mentioned the training of international students will help them consume more skilled workers for dairy operations in the country. She further confirms a high demand in the country for skilled workers at levels that include assistant herd managers, herd managers, farm managers and assistant farm managers.

The session for dairy management will enroll first set of students in late February and early March and more intakes will be seen in the month of July. As per Ms Buckley around 1000 graduates are demanded each year in the industry and huge number of applications is rolling their way in.

The main skills that are being focused in the two year diploma course are general farm skills, breeding, milking, feeding and pastures and the higher level management skills of production management, action planning, feed budgeting, financial planning and managing human resources. This can thus be chosen as a right path for getting education and training in the field of dairy management and agriculture training.
