DASA Scheme Opens Admission To International Students In Top Engineering Indian Institutions

The Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development or HRD has recently made the announcement for the “Direct Admission of Students Abroad” or DASA scheme for the upcoming academic session 2015-16. This would be a sure shot hit for the students seeking to study aboard in the coming academic year.

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under DASA make possible admissions for Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). Admissions are open for undergraduate programmes in Engineering/Architecture/ Planning for the Academic year 2015-16 to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and other premier Technical Institutions in India.

After the announcement of DASA Scheme, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka stated that all the students belonging to Bangladesh having a desire to study at the premium and high-end colleges and institutions are allowed to apply now.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has also publicized the related details of Direct Admission of Student Abroad or DASA scheme.

Under this scheme the Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin and Non-Resident Indians can easily seek admission into National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology and other premier Centrally Funded Technical Institutions for the academic year 2015-2016, the officials from HRD Department affirmed.

All the details regarding the DASA scheme can be collected from the official website of HRD at www.mhrd.gov.in or at www.dasnit.org.

Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur or MNIT has been selected by the government of India to look after and supervise the admission process of DASA scheme for the academic year 2015-16. The officials from MNIT has said that it is the most prestigious job entrusted to the institute and all the admission processes will be managed swiftly for the convenience of the students.

DASA scheme is not actually a scholarship program; instead it is quite competitive as persons of Indian origin, foreign nationals and non-resident Indians will seek admission under this scheme and it becomes competitive for all the students to avail this scheme for advancement of their career.

Under the DASA scheme, the students are allowed to seek admission for the academic year 2015-16 in any of the following institutions – The National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other top Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

Students will be allowed to seek admission in various Post Graduate and Under Graduate programs in premier institutions of India through DASA scheme and all the admission processes for the academic year 2015-16 will be coordinated by Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur. The eligibility criteria and other detailed information about admission process under this scheme can be obtained from the official website of HRD or at www.dasnit.org.

Important Instructions for Students 

-The SAT score of the students should be sent directly to the MNIT Jaipur for admission in 2015-16. The code is 7664.

-GRE Score for admission in academic year 2015-16 should also be sent to MNIT Jaipur and the code is 7536.

-Students are also requested to send their GMAT score for admission in academic year 2015-16 to MNIT Jaipur. The code is 9MZ.

-The admissions under the DASA scheme are mostly based on the SAT subject test score of the students.
