Doctoral Student in Physics, Accelerator Physics (MNFYSI01) Electromagnetic Fields, Sweden

Achieved results of study on courses on bachelor level, master level or comparable level

Study Subject: Physics
Employer: Lund university
Level: Doctoral
Scholarship Description: MAX-lab is a national laboratory for synchrotron radiation science. We currently use three storage rings to produce synchrotron radiation to more than 800 scientists yearly. The laboratory is engaged in a number of development projects with the focus of improved light sources. The MAX IV project provides a completely new accelerator system and beamlines to MAX-lab.

The stored electron beam in a storage ring or the accelerated electron beam in a linear accelerator induces electromagnetic fields in the vacuum chamber where the electron beam is travelling. The electromagnetic fields can be used to detect the position of the electron beam but they may also give rise to unwanted phenomena that dilutes or destabilises the electron beam.

As PhD student in accelerator physics you will work with simulation and measurements of electromagnetic fields, data acquisition, signal processing, and fast electronics.

Eligibility
A masters degree in Engineering Physics, master in Physics or comparable.

Scholarship Application Deadline: 2010-11-22

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I am very glad to see such wonderful info being shared freely out there.

  2. I just like the helpful info you provide in your articles. I will bookmark your weblog and check once more here frequently. I’m relatively certain I’ll learn many new stuff right right here! Good luck for the next!
