EMEA Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship, 2017-2018

Google is currently accepting applications for Women Techmakers Scholars Program (US, Canada, EMEA)-formerly known as the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship.  To be eligible to apply, applicants must intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program at a university in Europe, the Middle East or Africa for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Through the Women Techmakers Scholars Program – formerly the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship Program – Google is furthering Dr. Anita Borg’s vision of creating gender equality in the field of computer science by encouraging women to excel in computing and technology and become active leaders and role models in the field.

As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to advancing computing and technology, it pleased to provide scholarships and programs to encourage students to excel in their studies and become active role models and leaders.

Course Level: The scholarships are available for undergraduate or graduate degree level.

Study Subject(s): The Anita Borg Scholarship is dedicated to supporting students who are studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or majoring in a closely related technical field.

Scholarship Award:
United States & Canada:
Women Techmakers Scholars will each receive $10,000 USD (for students in the US) or $5,000 CAD (for students in Canada) for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Europe, Middle East and Africa: Women Techmakers Scholars will each receive a 7,000 EUR award (or local equivalent) for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Asia Pacific: Women Techmakers Scholars will each receive a cash award for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Scholarship can be taken in Europe, the Middle East or Africa

Eligibility: To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

  • Be a female student currently enrolled at a university for the 2016-2017 academic year
  • Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program at a university in Europe, the Middle East or Africa for the 2017-2018 academic year
  • Be studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics or a closely related technical field.
  • Demonstrate a strong academic record
  • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science

Nationality: Scholarship is awarded for Europe, the Middle East and African applicants.
