The University of Maryland is offering free online course on Instructional Design Models. In this education and teacher training course, part of the Instructional Design and Technology MicroMasters Program students will look at the history and evolution of online learning.

In this eight-week course, applicants will explore traditional and current instructional design models as you develop your own outline of an online course. This course will start on August 21, 2017.

Randy Hansen

Randy is a collegiate professor and program chair at the University of Maryland University College where he leads two master’s programs; the MS in Learning Design & Technology is developing the next generation of Learning Designers to create personalized online learning experiences.

Jessica Levene

Jessica Levene holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction (educational technology) from the University of Florida and has over six years experience leading educational technology change, ranging from district implementation, to large-scale corporate-wide training programs.

Eli Collins-Brown

Eli Collins-Brown is an instructional developer, designer, technologist, instructor and leader. Her focus has been on web-based, blended and online education but over the years has branched into the improvement of teaching and learning environments and faculty development.

Requirements

Basic experience in word processing and G Suite. A background in teaching, education, or professional development would be helpful but not required.

  • Create an edX account to SignUp
  • Choose “Register Now” to get started.
