Fulbright- U.S. Department of State is offering 2-3 LASPAU Faculty Development grant program for professors of Trinidad and Tobago who are dedicated to college or university and who have outstanding academic and professional qualifications. These grants are awarded to pursue graduate study in USA. Successful applicants will receive monthly maintenance stipend, book allowance, health insurance and round-trip airfare to the USA and thesis preparation expenses. The application closes on August 1, 2013 and application should be submitted via online process.

Eligibility: -The grant competition is open to professors who are nominated by institutions of higher education in Trinidad and Tobago and who have outstanding academic and professional qualifications.
-Candidates for doctoral-level study must already possess a master’s degree.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Applicants from Trinidad and Tobago (Professors who are nominated by institutions of higher education in Trinidad and Tobago) are eligible for this graduate scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The Fulbright-LASPAU program supports graduate study in the United States for professionals who are dedicated to college or university teaching.

Number of award (s): Approximately 2-3 grants are awarded per annum.

Duration of award (s): Grantees receive up to two years of funding for master’s level or doctoral-level studies.

What does it cover? Fulbright-LASPAU grantees receive a monthly maintenance stipend (which varies according to the cost of living in different locations in the U.S.), a book allowance, health insurance, and round-trip airfare to the U.S. Funds are also available to cover expenses related to graduate study such as thesis preparation. The admitting university covers tuition. The grant does not provide funding for grantees’ family members. Expenses for dependents are the grantee’s responsibility.
