( votes)Responsibilities include assisting with the planning and organizing of annual outreach activities, the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) the Summer Pre-doctoral Institute, and other projects that support the efforts of the EEP office. The Graduate Assistant will also function as a resource for current and prospective graduate students who are served by EEP.
Qualifications
The EEP Graduate Assistant must:
– be enrolled in a graduate program that leads to the doctorate and must be making satisfactory progress toward degree completion
– be aware of and sensitive to matters related to the outreach and support of students from populations underrepresented in graduate study at the University of Illinois
– be able to function independently and as a team member
– be able to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines
-possess strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral skills
-be proficient with Microsoft Office software
-be able to hold regularly scheduled office hours
-a reading and speaking knowledge of Spanish is preferred, but not required
Compensation
The Graduate Assistant for EEP will receive the 2008-2009 minimum salary for a 50% Graduate Assistantship.
