Harold and Olga Fox Scholarships in Biological Sciences at UCL in UK, 2015

University College London is offering Biological Sciences Scholarships for pursuing 3-year BSc or 4-year MSci, degrees. The Harold and Olga Fox Scholarships will pay £8000 towards overseas fees or £5000 towards UK/EU fees in each of the three or four years of the Scholar’s course, subject to satisfactory academic progress. Entries will be awarded according to academic merit. The application deadline is 30th July.

Eligibility: To apply for one of these Scholarships you must hold an offer of admission to study towards one of 3-year BSc, or 4-year MSci, degrees. (Course Code C900 or C901 only).

Scholarship Open for International Students: University College LondonUK/EU and overseas students can apply for these Biological Sciences scholarships.

Scholarship Description: Harold Fox completed his PhD thesis, “Development of the skull and associated structures in Amphibia with special reference to the Urodela,” in 1951, in the Department of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy, under the supervision of Dr. Michael Abercrombie. Harold remained in the department for the rest of his working life until 1994.

Number of award(s): Up to four merit based scholarships (one for overseas student and other three for UK/EU students) are available.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships will be awarded in each of the three or four years of the Scholar’s course, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

What does it cover? The Harold and Olga Fox Scholarships will pay £8000 towards overseas fees or £5000 towards UK/EU fees in each of the three or four years of the Scholar’s course, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Selection Criteria: Entries will be awarded according to academic merit.

Notification: The result will be announced in late August.

How to Apply: To apply for one of the Scholarships please submit via post:
-Full Curriculum Vitae
-Covering letter explaining why you wish to study at UCL.
-An essay in English (approximately 1000 words) on any biological subject of your choice (e.g. The importance of Biology in the 21st century.)
