IARC Mid-Career Visiting Scientist International Awards in France

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is very pleased to announce the call for applications for the IARC Mid-Career Visiting Scientist International Award for individuals keen on participating in cancer research projects. Applications are now accepted.

This award is especially offered to a qualified and experienced mid-career investigator from a low- and middle-income country (LMIC) who also lives and works in an LMIC country and wishes to come to IARC and drive a collaborative project in a research area related to the Agency’s programmes. The eligible selected candidates will be appointed with a monthly stipend of 2,820 Euros for a period of 6 to 12 months.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer is an intergovernmental agency forming part of the World Health Organization of the United Nations. The centre’s role is to conduct and coordinate research into the causes of cancer and also collect and publishing surveillance data regarding the occurrence of cancer worldwide.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is the specialized cancer agency of the World Health Organization. The objective of the IARC is to promote international collaboration in cancer research. The Agency has a particular interest in conducting research in low and middle-income countries through partnerships and collaborations with researchers in these regions.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Students from foreign countries are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for the postdoctoral position vacant at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be from low- and middle income
  • The applicants must belong to the staff of a university, research or public institution and must provide written assurance of a post to return to at the end of the period of the Award.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Applications for this opportunity must be submitted online. All eligible applicants will be considered.
  • Supporting Documents: The candidates are required to prepare two reference letters, a research proposal, motivation letter and proof of recent publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must hold a PhD degree that must have been obtained more than 5 years and less than 15 years ago.
  • Language Requirement: The candidates must have excellent proficiency in English and French languages.

Benefits

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will be awarding the selected candidates a monthly stipend of 2,820 Euros to cover cost of travel for the Awardee, and in certain circumstances for dependents, along with the anointment for the position for duration of 6 to 12 months.
