IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarships at University of Oxford in UK, 2019

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the University of Oxford are jointly funding scholarships for graduate students from IDB member countries. Scholarships are provided in the field of mathematical, physical and life sciences (MPLS), medical sciences and social sciences divisions.

This scholarship is not open to candidates applying for Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma courses, part-time courses, non-matriculated courses or to students with deferred entry. The combined IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarship will cover 100% of university and college fees and a grant for living expenses.

Eligibility

  • You should be applying to start a new full-time graduate course in Mathematics, Physical and Life Sciences (MPLS), Medical Sciences or Social Sciences Divisions.
  • Candidates should be from one of the IDB member countries and be nominated by the IDB for the scholarship – having submitted successful applications to the relevant office of the IDB Governor – through their nominating institution. As the Scholarships are made in partnership with the Clarendon Fund, all candidates must also have applied for admission to Oxford and been selected for a Clarendon Scholarship.
  • This scholarship is not open to candidates applying for Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma courses, part-time courses, non-matriculated courses or to students with deferred entry.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iran, Nigeria, U.A.E., Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, Kuwait, Algeria, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh,  Yemen, Morocco, Sudan, Jordan, Gabon, Senegal, Oman, Iraq, Brunei, Cameroon, Guinea, Bahrain, Burkina Faso, Niger, Uganda, Benin, Palestine, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, Syria, Azerbaijan, Mali, Afghanistan, Chad, Lebanon, Mauritania, Albania, Gambia, Kyrgyz, Maldives, Mozambique, Suriname, Djibouti, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Tajikistan, Togo, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Comoros, Cote d’Ivoire can apply for the scholarships.

How to Apply: In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course. Candidates must also apply directly to IDB. Candidates must have been nominated by both the IDB and by the University for a Clarendon Fund Scholarship, through their parallel selection procedures, in order to be awarded the IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarship.
