This scholarship is designed to equip talented individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to spearhead cutting-edge research in replication, reproducibility, robustness, Open Science, and science communication.

The PhD scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities who hold a (research) master’s degree or are on track to receive one in a relevant field such as psychology, data science, statistics, or information sciences. Successful candidates will possess experience with statistical analysis and data visualization in the R-software environment, along with a collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Hold a (research) master’s degree (completed, or to be awarded before the starting date) in a relevant field such as psychology, data science, statistics, or information sciences.
  • Demonstrate experience with statistical analysis and data visualization in the R-software environment.
  • Possess a collaborative mindset, openness to learning new skills, and willingness to share knowledge.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and clear communication skills.
  • Provide evidence of the ability to conduct high-quality research and write scientific texts.
  • Have good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Show the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research group.
  • Familiarity with Open Science and responsible research practices, and a willingness to adopt them.

The successful candidate will receive:

  • An appointment of initially 12 months, extendable to 3 years, leading to the completion of a Ph.D. thesis.
  • A competitive salary ranging from €2,770 to €3,539 gross per month based on a full-time employment contract, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
