The government of Kerala is inviting applications for Kerala Central Sector Scholarship for the academic year 2014-15. Total number of programs available under this Scheme is 2324.

These are available for pursuing any regular course at Under Graduate level in recognized Educational Institutions, including Professional Courses such as Medical, Engineering, etc.

Education programs are only open for the students who have scored more than 80% marks in the +2 /VHSE Examinations, March 2014 conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education /Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Education Government of Kerala. Duration of award is three years.

Eligibility:
-Applicant should have Scored a minimum of 80% of Marks in the +2/VHSC Examinations, March 2014 conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education/Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala.
-Applicant Should be pursuing any Regular Courses at Under- Graduate Degree level in any recognized Educational Institution, including Professional Courses Such as Medical, Engineering etc. Applicants Pursuing Parallel / Private Registration/ Correspondence / Distance Education courses are not eligible to apply.
-Parental income (Both Father and Mother) should not exceed Rs: 6 lakhs per annum for the financial year ending March 2014.
– Applicant should not be availing any other Financial Assistance.
-Applicants should not be belonging to the Creamy –layer as defined by the Department of Personnel and Training in their Notification number 36012/22/93 Esst. (SCT) dated 8/11/93 and as modified vide their OM No: 36033/3/2004-Esst(Res) Dated : 9/3/2004 and as may be modified from time to time.

Award Open for International Scholar: Indian candidates are eligible.

Program Description: Applications are invited for the Central Sector for Under Graduate Studies, for the academic year 2014-15 from holders who have scored more than 80% marks in the +2 /VHSE Examinations, March 2014 conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education /Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Education Government of Kerala, and pursuing any regular course at Under Graduate level in recognized Educational Institutions, including Professional Courses such as Medical, Engineering, etc. A total number of awards available under this Scheme is 2324. The award, introduced by Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of Higher Education, Govt: of India, aims at providing financial assistance e to meritorious student from low-income families. The total number of funds is divided into the States, based on the Statistics of the population in the age of 18-25 years. 50% of the fund would be earmarked for girls. The prize would be distributed amongst the pass outs of the Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams in the ratio of 3:2:1. awards are reserved for the various categories as follow: SC-15%, ST-7 reserved horizontally in all the categories.

How to Apply

Applications can be submitted only ‘ONLINE’.
– Documents to be submitted along with Registration Printout
-Attested certificate of matriculation examination
-Proof of Permanent Residence/Nativity Certificate
-Annexure-iii (income Affidavit): Parental income of the applicants as on
-March 2014 should be shown.
-Non-Creamy-Layer Certificate, Community Certificate, Disability Certificate in case of Physically Handicapped applicants, etc. should be produced in original wherever applicable.
-Copy of the +2/VHSE Mark list attested by a Gazetted Officer.
-Attested copy of the first page of bank passbook in the name of the holders, showing account number, name, code, etc.
-Attested Copy of Adhar Id.

Benefit

Under Graduates: Rs: 1000/- per month for (Subject to a Maximum of Rs: 10,000/- for an academic year) and Rs: 2000/- per month for Post-Graduate studies (Subject to a Maximum of Rs: 20,000/- for an academic year), provided they are selected for Scholarship at UG level. Professional Courses: Rs. 1000/- per month for the first three years (Subject to a Maximum of Rs: 10,000/- for an academic year) and Rs. 2000/- per month for the 4th and 5thyears of study (Subject to a maximum of Rs:20,000/- for an academic year). The Central Sector amount will be transferred directly by MHRD to the adhar linked Bank Account of the candidates under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme introduced by the Government of India.
