The Law School Admission Test – LSAT

It is administered by the LSAC or the Law School Admission Council and the first test was conducted in 1948 after three years of rigorous planning and execution.

Importance of LSAT 

-A decent LSAT score can provide a golden opportunity to the candidate to get admitted in the best Law schools of India and all across the globe without any other entrance examination.
-The LSAT scores also allow the students to get a decent scholarship amount which waives out a substantial part of your tuition fees and sometimes covers your lodging and other expenses as well.

Structure of the Exam

-The total duration of the examination is 2 hours 20 minutes devoid of any break.
-The tests are usually conducted on weekends and conducted 4 times per year in the month of June, September, December and February.
-You need to appear for 5 sections all together, 35 minutes each, and answer the multiple choice questions out of which 4 such sections will be considered for your score. The unscored section, which is also known as the variable section, has a different purpose indeed.
-At the end, you need to appear for a 35 minute writing test which is not used for scores again but are sent to every law school where you have sent the application for admission.
-LSAT questions comprise of reading comprehensions, analytical reasoning and logical reasoning which are measured to select the best candidate fit for being a lawyer.
-The reading section has complex and lengthy materials which checks how proficient a person is in reading them carefully whereas the analytical reasoning checks how well the candidate can draw conclusions about something. Your reasoning skills are checked by the evaluators to better understand your deduction power.
-The logical reasoning section asks the candidate to read a complex passage, and answer questions related to the same. This enables the evaluator to understand the critical thinking ability and legal reasoning power that a candidate possesses. It also checks how a person can argue on a particular topic, apply rules and also figure out the flaws in an ongoing conversation.
-The LSAT-India has the same questions as LSAT, but the scores are configured in a different manner. There is no writing sample there and one can take admissions in Indian Law Schools through the LSAT-India.

-You need to pass the 12th standard examination and need to be a citizen of the country from where you are appearing for the examination.
-You need to register online by visiting the official site and pay the examination fees on time.
