Loughborough University is pleased to announce the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Scholarships for the academic year 2023-24. There are 50 scholarships designed to encourage and support students from under-represented groups to develop skills in data science and artificial intelligence.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a member of at least one of the following under-represented groups.  The scholarship is valued at £10,000.

Eligibility

• Eligible Countries:  UK/EU
• Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to students studying in one of the following MSc programmes: MSc Data Science, MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, MSc Cyber Security and Data Analytics, and MSc Digital Finance.
• Admissible Criteria: To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
• To be a member of at least one of the following under-represented groups: Women, Black students, Students registered disabled, Students from a low socioeconomic background, Care experienced students, Estranged students, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller students, Refugees, Children from military families, veterans and partners of military personnel.
• Meet the nationality or residency status criteria to qualify for the postgraduate master’s loan.
• Have confirmed a place on one of the eligible programmes.
• To be self-funding, i.e. not in receipt of any other scholarship or sponsorship (a UK government postgraduate loan is acceptable).

• How to Apply: To apply for the scholarship, complete the online application form. Applicants must have already submitted their application for one of the master’s programmes before applying for the scholarship, as they will be required to include their Postgraduate Application Number as part of the process.
• Supporting Documents: When submitting your application, you need to write a brief supporting statement.
• Your past achievements in academic, professional, and extra-curricular activities
• Your data science experience to date and any future career plans
• How will you benefit from the financial assistance offered by the scholarship
• Admission Requirements: To take admission to the university, aspirants must meet the university’s admission requirements.
• Language Requirement: Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English. The applicants must be fluent in the English language.

Benefits

Loughborough University will provide up to £10,000 award amount that can be applied to tuition, living expenses, or a combination of the two. These scholarships are paid out over the course of the academic year in three installments.
