The LU Arts is happy to announce Brand New Arts Scholarships and New Programme of Music Scholarships for students who have keen interest in Arts and Music for the year 2018/19. Scholarships are available for International students.

The music scholarships are aimed at supporting high level musicians and singers in further developing their abilities.

Here at Loughborough we take pride in offering an experience and creating a community that you can be proud to be a part of. Loughborough ranks particularly highly for engineering and technology and is noted for its sports-related courses and achievements.

Scholarship Description

• Applications Deadline: October 15, 2018
• Course Level: Theses scholarships are available for students who have passion in Music and Art.
• Study Subject: The majority of the scholarships are music-focused. However, there are also scholarships for Creative Writing, Performing Arts, and an Open Scholarship aimed at art forms that fall outside of those listed.
• Scholarship Award:

1 x creative writing/spoken word scholarship:

The scholarship package:

• Programme of mentoring from a professional writer/poet
• £500 prize

• Be a part of the scholar network and collaborate with fellow scholars, arts groups and external artists at social events and workshops

1 x performing arts scholarship

The scholarship package:

• Tailored programme of mentoring with a professional in the particular art form of the winner
• £400 prize

Be a part of the scholar network and collaborate with fellow scholars, arts groups and external artists at social events and workshops

1 x open scholarship

The scholarship package:

• Tailored programme of mentoring/tuition
• £400 prize

• Be a part of the scholar network and collaborate with fellow scholars, arts groups and external artists at social events and workshops.

Music scholarships: Each scholarship package includes a cash prize and a package of mentoring/music tuition.

• Nationality: Scholarships are available for International students.
• Number of Scholarships: Nine art scholarships are available across two campuses. Students can only apply for one scholarship per year. If you feel you would be eligible for more than one and are uncertain as to which to apply for then please email David Bell: LUArts-at-lboro.ac.uk.

1. 3 x instrumental scholarships
2. 2 x choral scholarships
3. 1 x singer songwriter/contemporary solo artist scholarship

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

BRAND NEW ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2018/19

1 x creative writing/spoken word scholarship

Open to students interested in different forms of creative writing, this scholarship has been created to support the ongoing development of the popular performance poetry night Speech Bubble at LSU. This twice-yearly event combines open mic sessions with professional poets.

1 x performing arts scholarship

Open to students who actively participate in dance, acting or other forms of performing arts.

1 x open scholarship

Open to students interested in art forms not covered by the other scholarships available. This could range from DJ’ing to drawing, ceramics to animation, playwriting to circus skills.

NEW PROGRAMME OF MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2018/19

These will be awarded to students who have a passion and commitment to a particular art form and who would benefit from a package of support that would enable them to develop their skill and knowledge in their field of interest. In return we expect recipients to actively contribute to the creative life of the University through delivering and participating in events that showcase the best of our student talent.
